The Seven Steps of Automating Time & Attendance
Does your management team want to streamline the processes of payroll preparation and employee attendance tracking but isn't sure where to begin? There are seven simple steps of automation- that is, converting to an automated time and attendance system. They are as follows:
1 Assemble a Selection Team to evaluate organizational needs.
2 Define System Requirements and identify possible time and money-saving functions.
3 Determine the Return on Investment Prepare an estimated savings worksheet to determine the payback period.
4 Establish and Approve a Budget A budget should be established considering your organization's existing computer environment, available technical resources, required system functionality, and number of employees.
5 Select a Vendor Consider the following benchmarks: Are work rules and policies extensive, user definable, and easy to apply? What professional services are offered during and after installation?
6 Develop a Project Plan Select a project manager, define software and hardware configurations, outline training, and define a checklist that will identify a successful installation.
7 Implement the Solution Its implementation should also lead to an error-free payroll, employee recognition tools, and a mechanism for managers to do their jobs easier.
